Continuing medical education

The Clinic for Vascular and Endovascular Surgery KCS organizes several continuing medical education courses during the year for domestic participants, covering various aspects of pathology, diagnostics and treatment of vascular diseases.

In addition, over the past two years, two hands‑on training courses dedicated to eversion carotid endarterectomy under regional anaesthesia – cervical block – have been held at our Clinic. Both courses were supported by the European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS), and participants included surgeons and anaesthesiologists from several European countries and worldwide (New Zealand, United Kingdom, Italy, Estonia, Cyprus, Romania, Georgia, and others).

Projects and studies

• Scientific research project “Multidisciplinary research relevant to the etiopathogenesis, diagnostics and modern treatment of diseases of the thoracoabdominal aorta and its branches”, funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Government of the Republic of Serbia
• Study on thrombolytic treatment of thrombosis of a native artery or thrombosed bypass graft in the lower extremities using human plasmin
• International Registry for Penetrating Aortic Ulcers, in cooperation with the University of Genoa
• Study on surgical treatment of asymptomatic carotid stenosis (ACST – Asymptomatic Carotid Surgery Trial 2), organized by the University of Oxford
• Investigation of the effect of negative pressure on wound healing – randomized comparative study
